Scythe 3

What components does your book have to make it a page-turner?  Or was this book a little slow to get started?  Was there a point where you just couldn't put it down?  Or did you struggle getting through it?  Please provide examples.

  1. I felt that Scythe was harder to read then other books for me. The reason I feel that is because yet it might be a grate story but it was written weirdly and was hard to understand this is the case for me but it may not be for other people. I am just not as interested in the way it is written .

  2. Scythe is a good book but is slow throughout. Scythe follows two perspectives, Citra and Rowan, over a year in an apprenticeship. At the beginning it was slow, and only when Rowan joined Scythe Goddard's group to continue his apprenticeship did it start to pick up. I did enjoy it though, the story is interesting, and I would be happy to read the next book.

  3. I feel like this is a good book but it is a little slow. The way it is written is a little confusing because it switches from characters very quickly. But overall it think it got better once I got farther into it. When they joined the scythes group it was slow because they mostly just talked about the different gleanings they watched. I did like it though, and i would read the second book.

  4. This book was pretty hard to get into. It kind of just threw a lot of information at you at the beginning trying to explain the history behind unwinding and introduction of characters. It took me a minute to actually process or understand what was going on because it moved a lot back and forth between characters points of view. It was sometimes hard to keep track, especially when Lev was separated from Risa and Conner. But, once I finally understood what was going on it was very hard to put down. The ending kept me at the edge of the seat, I wanted to know what would happen next.

  5. I feel like scythe was longer than it needed to be so that is what made it harder to read and somewhat annoying because they added the details to the wrong places but some people like that. a part where I couldn't put it down was when the scythe came into Citra's house and eat here food and Citra yelled at him because she couldn't handle scythe faraday.

  6. I think some parts of the book were more of a page turner for me than others. I feel once i got farther into Scythe i enjoyed reading it more. Once i could read about citra perspective and Rownas when they were placed with different Scythes i enjoyed reading that.

    1. I definitely agree that it was more interesting once their perspectives weren't so similar. It was also a good contrast because of how different their mentor scythes were from each other

  7. The first book felt a little slow to me and I didn't love it nor think it was a page-turner. Reading the second book, Thunderhead, was much more enjoyable and towards the end I didn't want to put it down because it became super interesting.

  8. Unwind definitely felt plodding in pace at certain points, such as when connor and risa first enter the safe house in the antique store. However, the pace and tension increases dramatically after the graveyard revolt and when they are brought into the harvest camp.

  9. For me Sythe was very easy and fast in the start of it but as I got more towards the middle/end of it, it became a little slow and boring. But as I started to finish it moved a lot faster, I just had to get through the middle of it. The part that made me want to continue reading was, I wanted to see if Citra or Rowan would become a sythe.

  10. I really liked this book because I loved the first one. But I will say the start was very slow and I really wish I got to see more of Citra and Rowan's relationship. The middle of the book was also pretty slow and not to too interesting, but the end was just thing after thing happening. At the end I understood why the beginning had to be very long and thought out.

  11. This book is a page turner because theres so many higherpower people that you never know when they could make a decision and the whole plot can change. I also thought with Rowan and Citra having different scythes and morals that it made it a lot more interesting. I couldnt put it down when Citra got accused of gleaning scythe farday.

  12. I really liked the book but it was hard to get into. It was a very slow read for me in the beginning. After reading the whole book I now understand why the beginning was very long and slow to get through

  13. The second book is a page turner to me because of how I got to see the Scythe parts and the thunderheads mind. The point in the Thunderhead book where I just couldn't put it down was when all of the Scythe Anastasia made the inquest because I wasn't expecting that to happen. I also loved the ending of the book because I was never expecting it. I definitely like the second book better then the first one and I will definitely read the third one!

  14. This book for me was a little slow getting into because I read the second one so long ago that I had to try to remember all the details that happened. But all the different lives of the characters made me want to keep reading to find out how they were connected. I was a little confused at first but everything was explained thoroughly throughout the book. At the end once everything finally came together I could not put it down. I really enjoyed the ending and the whole series.

  16. It was a bit slow at times and I struggled to get through bits of it but the world building and detail was great. I do kinda struggle with multiple perspectives at times but other then the small things it was a really good book and great read.
