Silent Patient 2

Do you believe in 100 years, this novel will be considered a "classic"?  Will it stand the test of time and be something that students will be reading in an English class of the future?  Why or why not?

  2. Personally this is a great book that will be a classic. However I don't think that it would be something that students would read in class. I believe that it could stand the test of time because it could be read through any period of time and any ages. It deals with the mental health and well being of Alicia that anyone could relate to.

  3. I personally think this was a great book and everyone should read it but I don't think it will be considered a classic. I feel that books like To Kill A Mockingbird deserve to be a classic because they have such powerful meanings and I took something away from those type of books. The Silent Patient was a great book and I do feel that people will still talk about the book years later and how mental health can impact your future. Overall this book made me realize a lot about physical and mental abuse and I think that people will still talk about it in the future.

  4. This book was very well written and will definitely become a classic. The amount of people that I know have read it and thought it was good was amazing. Lots of books are very popular for a while but then people get over it. This book is one of the most emotionally and mentally engaging books I've ever read and should be experienced by many generations to come.

  5. I think that this book is very good and very well written but I do not think that it will be a classic. This is because it's not like How To Kill A Mocking Bird and other books like that. I do think that everyone should read this book at least once, it has lots of twist and talks a lot about mental health which a lot of people struggle with.

  6. I don't know about a classic but maybe like a hidden beauty the some people absolutely love and never forget and others just look past it. I honestly like those books more where it feels almost like your own little world since not many really know about it. However it is a good book and I think it'll still do good.

  7. I feel like this could be a classic in 100 years. I will always recommend this book because of how much I loved this book. I didn't think I was really a mystery book person, but I loved it. I think many people would like this book and also recommend this people to younger people because it is very good. I also, think people could relate to mental health with this book and see that they are not alone.

  8. no i do not think this will become a classic. yes the book was great but it didn't have exactly what it needs to become a classic, it just didn't stand out to me that much. I also don't think future classrooms will read this book because its definitely meant for an older crowd with some of the things it talks about.

  9. I do not believe this book will become a classic in 100 years. This book was great but i do not believe it could possibly be a classic. This book is mystery and mental health related which i do not feel like should be a classical book nor are there any out there yet. I do not think this book could be a classic book also because the characters are older.

  10. I dont think this book will end up being a classic, just because I think classic books usually have a message behind them where I felt like this book was just a story. I feel like it would be a good book for english just because there are times at any point in the book there you can stop and talk about whats happening and what they think is going to happen next.

  11. The odds of this book, and many other contemporary novels, becoming a classic is astronomically low. So few books from the 20th century are considered classics nowadays. The one quality i believe is necessary for a book to become a classic is for it to either provide a window into a timeframe of the society it was written in, or present a unique and insightful view on a contentious topic. Unfortunately, this book does neither. While well written and mysterious, it does not tackle the topics with new, in-depth points of view. It will likely not be read in English classes due to it very often mentioning sex.

  12. I do not think that this book will become a classic in 100 years. The book has a good plot and is a good story but it does not have a super great message that comes out of it, unlike a lot of the classic novels today.

  13. This book is very well written and has the chance to become a classic, but I don't think it will be read in classes. it could stand the test of time and be read decades into the future because it is a very well written book and covers things that in the far future, we will still be discussing it and it will be something you can read to understand mental health better.

  14. This is a very great book but I do not think it has what it needs to become a classic novel. It is a psychological thriller and it talks a lot about mental illnesses, but there is no strong theme or message that I took away from it. I feel a classic novel has to have that strong message in it.

  15. I personally loved this book but I do not think it will become a classic. It talks a lot about mental illness but since it's a mystery and a thriller I don't think it has the academical elements or themes to become a classic. Most classics have memorable lessons in them and that's why we read them in English classes. I do not think this book has that so I also don't think it will a book that is read in English classes in 100 years.

  16. I think this book has great potential to be a classic. It does a good job of captivating the reader's attention and contains all the great elements of a mystery novel without feeling redundant or overdone. It is memorable, gets you thinking and connecting with the material, and the unique concept is executed very well. I'm not sure about being used in English classes in the future because of some of the more graphic details/language

  17. I think tis book could most definitely be a classic. I feel that a lot of people like a classic mystery. I could 100% see someone rereading this to see what they mist that i could be enjoyed for a very long time. Not many books i felt That they will stand to time but i can see this one going on for a long time.
