The Last Cuentista 3

What components does your book have to make it a page-turner?  Or was this book a little slow to get started?  Was there a point where you just couldn't put it down?  Or did you struggle getting through it?  Please provide examples.

  1. I struggled to make make self sit down and read the book because it was hard to follow along with characters and what was happening and time. For example the character always switch between names for on character so you had to know both to understand who was who.

    1. I agree! The names were confusing, especially because multiple people were "Zeta" with only numbers to set them apart. I'm glad she nicknamed the other zetas because it made it much easier to tell them apart

  2. This book is a page turner, or was for me because since i didnt always know what was going on i would keep reading to try and figure it out. Once Petra found out who Javier was on the ship i couldnt put the book down because i was waiting to see if they were gonna find their parents too or just get off the ship.

  3. This book had a lot of interesting things in it, but I feel like some things where just said and not gone back to like the boy who passed out food or passed to quickly like some of the people getting their memories back. All in all, it was a good book, and I didn't want to put it down.

  4. for me this book was a page turner because at first it was very confusing then I got to where she had all these ideas in play and she was in the process of trying to get everyone to remember who they were that just made me not want to stop reading

  5. For me this book was not a page turner. I did not like how confusing this book. The end got more tolerable for me but I really didn't enjoy it that much. I think for people who are more interested in science could enjoy this book better than I did. The part i really enjoyed was when Petra found Javier and realized who he was. At that point I wanted to know more.

    1. I agree with you on how the book was very confusing. I also loved when she found out about Javier and that they finally were together again after so long.

  6. The book wasn't really a page turner for me because it was very confusing and I didn't know what was happening in some parts of the book. The book didn't give us that much detail about the ship or what the people looked like so I had a hard time trying to imagine everything. When Petra found her brother it got a little bit more interesting but that was right at the end of the book, so I wish the whole book had more action and mystery in it.

    1. i agree i was confused over this book as well. I would also agree about wanting this book to have more mystery involved to make it more interesting.

  7. This book was very hard to get through for me. I really am not normally into very futuristic, slightly dystopian stories to begin with, so reading this was difficult from the beginning. I also feel like most things that were going on left a lot to imagination, and I couldn't understand what the author was trying to make happen. Overall I struggled to keep reading this book.

  8. This book was not a page turner for me at all. Maybe during the climax of the story, I was interested, but other than that, I wasn't invested in the characters or the plot. It was such a slow read because of my lack of interest. It felt like a chore to get to the end, and if I wasn't required to finish it, I definitely would have stopped reading it around page 50. While the plot was creative and unique, the writing made me cringe. There were lots of times I complained about this book, and multiple times where I would start reading it but switch to a different book because of how much I disliked reading this.

  9. I kind of struggled getting through this book. I think the story would've been great if a different person wrote it, it just felt very rushed and then very slow at parts. I was really interested in the parts with Voxy he was a great addition to the book especially being Nyla's son.

  10. I did not think this book was a page turner. The beginning was kind of interesting because I wanted to see how they would make life work on a new planet, but it quickly got boring. I felt as though there wasn't much action and it was overall very dull. The characters were not very well described so I couldn't picture everyone, while other things, in my opinion, were described to much. I was confused throughout most of this book. They focused a lot on Petra's eye sight and how it was bad. She often described in the beginning what her vision looked like and how she struggled to see and they were worried that if the monitors found out it would effect their chances of going on the ship, but I realized that halfway through the book Petra didn't say anything about her eyesight and never described it again. And when on their journey to find the first assemblers she led them and it seemed perfectly fine.

  11. This book was not a page turner for me. I felt as if the book was very slow and boring. I got confused while reading it and felt as if it was hard to follow along. I didn't really have a picture in mind like I do when I read most books. This book was just not for me.

  12. this book was not really a page turner at all for me. I just had in my brain how unrealistic this is and I don't know it made me mad. Really the only interesting part is when they get to see each other again, I didn't really think they would ever see each other again. I also have this opinion probably because I don't enjoy books like this. overall, this was a slow book for me that I did not enjoy.

  13. This book wasn't a page turner for me. I felt that this book was very boring, confusing, and slow. I feel like in a book its easier to read when you can relate but i just couldn't find a way to relate to this book. I'm not really into these kinds of books anyways but that is just my opinion.

  14. This book was kind of hard to get through, not really my type of read. I feel like this is not a book I recommend because it was confusing and didn't make a whole lot of sense.

  15. For me, the book was really good in the start of it, wanting to know what will happen but as I got to the middle it was so hard to understand what was going on because it bored me.

  16. Overall, the book was very slow. The only parts that picked up the tension or introduced something intriguing were when Petra found where all of her belongings were held and when it was revealed that old scientist was actually Javier. Everything from Petra's memories were a fun and relaxing way to break up the action. It's a little funny, because the book was a bit slow to get started, but simultaneously felt like the author was rushing to get past the introduction and get Petra onto the ship and fighting the collective.

  17. I don't think I would call this book a page-turner but I didn't necessarily struggle to get through it. The storyline was interesting enough to keep me reading, but every time I thought the pace was going to pick up and it was going to get exciting it just didn't happen. I don't know I feel like this had the potential to be a really great book but it just wasn't what I wanted. I will say there were a few parts in there like when she found her brother, Javier, or when Voxy followed them onto the planet when they escaped. Those few parts made me like the book a little more and made it a little more exciting. But otherwise it just was not that intriguing and was a bit confusing.

  18. This wasn't much of a page turner and I had to reread a lot of stuff cause I was confused or it just wasn't sticking. I fell it could have been a great book but a lot of ideas got dropped or executed poorly. I struggled to get through the book at all. I think I lost a few brain cells reading through this and with how little I wanted to read it my motivation to do so plummeted but my motivation to do anything else productively so I didn't have to read sky rocketed.
